Well it’s about time CapCC is released. CapCC is a Wordpress 2.x Captcha plugin used for user registration and comments. It is the same plugin used here on fuctweb.com. It was coded by the very talented Coice and we look forward to getting feedback on it. Here are the links you are looking for. ![]()

There are no missing files. Make sure you have activated the plugin and check the permissions. The admin section will show up under your plugins tab as CapCC Configuation.

It hasn’t been tested with Spam Karma. If you test it, I would appreciate if you would inform me of the results.
Thanks

Hi,
First i would like the say this plugin to amazing.
It works fine too but… take a look at the plugin here http://www.dezinerfolio.com/2007/07/13/free-royalty-free-icons-sites
I need the captcha coming before the submit button. Any possibility to do that now ?
July 18th, 2007 at 10:51 am
Thanks. You need to edit your comments.php file within your theme. Look for the submit button line and
move it down so it is one line above the closing form tag.
Let me know if that works out for you.

hey. its good but dont show pic for me. im using free web. can u help? =)

Nice plugin, thanks.
3 things
(1) is *should add its submenu to Options, not Plugins (according to WP style)
(2) would be nice if you’d fix the default path so it automatically reconizes if the blog install is in a subdirectory, i.e. http://yourblog.com/ but install is at http://yourblog.com/wordpress/ –> path needs the extra /wordpress prefix for the imgs to show
(3) the captcha does not work on wp-register.php, it does not catch wron captchas …
August 17th, 2007 at 12:07 pm
(1) thanks for insight, but not a big deal.
(2) will take into consideration for next version, but still not a showstopper.
(3) it does work on wp-register.php. If you attempt to register and enter in captcha wrong, then you *should* receive the following error message “ERROR: You must enter the correct letters you see.” I just tested for this issueon a few blogs and was unable to replicate it.
Thanks for the feeback.

Great plugin, simple and efficient.
Navdeep from http://www.dezinerfolio.com has solved the problem with the submit button, so do you. Can u please post de modification you made to comments.php from the theme folder ?
Thanks in advance!

Edit comments.php. Find the line that has do_action and comment_form in it. Cut that line and paste it above the line that has “Submit Comment” in it.

@menace
the ploegin does indeed work as it should, there was another plugin that hijacked the registration but forgot that you’d probably not only want a pretty form, but also a functional form (hooks, global $errors array, …)

Any way to hide the captcha until the user wants to enter a comment? I am receiving a large number of requests for the capcc.php file and I’d like to only show the image if the user has already entered a comment. Most people view a page without commenting so they shouldn’t need to request the capcc.php file.
Thanks for a great plugin!

Great plugin!. To get it to work without needing Freetype installed, just modify the following:
1) comment out line 441, otherwise there are too many lines making the text too hard to read
2) replace the lines 468 and 469 with the following:
imagestring($img,$font_size,$font_abstracta +2 + ($i*CAPCC_FONTSIZE),$font_abstractb + 0 + $font_line,$text[$i],$bgcolor);
imagestring($img,$font_size,$font_abstracta + ($i*CAPCC_FONTSIZE),$font_abstractb + 2 + $font_line,$text[$i],$color);
I did that and it works perfectly.

Hmmh, on my website the Captcha-graphic isn’t loaded: http://kunden.greentomato.de/sbz-monteur/wp-login.php?action=register
The GD Library with the freetype is installed and even with the Standard WP-theme there is still the same effect! Have you got any ideas??? I really woulkd appreciate it!!!
Best regards from Germany

It’s me once again! I really need some help. I think I could isolate the problem and it seems that it has something to do withe MySQL-DB! I noticed that no key is generated and the folowwing php-error occurs:
Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/00000000399/pages/sbz-monteur/wp-content/plugins/capcc.php on line 392
As I implemented a echo after the mysql_query I get this message: MySQL-Error: Table ‘00000000399_a.sbzm_capcc’ doesn’t exist
Does anybody has an idea what I have to do??? Here once again the URL: http://kunden.greentomato.de/sbz-monteur/wp-login.php?action=register

It seems that (at last with WP 2.5) if someone try to register a new user and leaves the captcha field empty, it gets registered anyway.
