LOS ANGELES: Actress Lindsay Lohan has been cited for driving under the influence after losing control of her Mercedes convertible, the Beverly Hills Police Department said.
Lohan was involved in a single-car crash and was cited after being admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Sgt Mike Foxen said.
She could face further charges, after a substance suspected of being cocaine was found in the car, Officer Mitch McCann said later at a news conference held at the police department.
Foxen said Lohan was arrested, but not taken into custody, after police located her at the hospital.
The actress, who underwent a stint in rehab earlier this year, was given a citation and a court date, Foxen said, adding that he did not know the date.
Lohan’s arrest was first reported on the website of celebrity photo agency X17 Inc.
Representatives of the actress did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
